The Roots of DSA in Edward Bernstein: A Critical History of Social Democracy

This is a very good talk on the history of social democracy from 1848 through the rise of fascism. What is very interesting is the crisis in Marxism caused as a result of the working class’ failure to rebel as Marx predicted. The social democrats aligned with Bernstein and the Communist Party was formed by Lenin. What’s missing is the rise of DSA in 1970. A comparison between Bernstein and DSA founder, Michael Harrington would have been interesting.
