For well over 40 years the likes of Reagan, Thatcher, Blair and the Clintons have cannibalized the social infrastructure, slashed social programs and refused to raise wages. Now with the Coronavirus the chickens are coming home to roost. Because workers will get sick and be too poor to buy the products off the shelves, capitalists will be left holding the bag. Whether workers or capitalists will be stuck with a “hot potato” depends on whether those workers will demand quasi-socialist government measures.
