Liberal Hollywood? Racial Propaganda in the Movies: 100 Years and Counting

One of the many places where racism is perpetuated is in the movies. It’s not just who is nominated for awards, but it is also how groups and races are portrayed. From the “dangerous savage” Native Americans to the “yellow peril” and the stereotypes of blacks in minstrels or as servants or criminals, the racism continues. If you think film is just “mindless entertainment”, one propaganda theorist claimed that film is the most powerful propaganda form there is.
