Italian Elections: European Union Centrists Lose Big Time

As political economist Michael Roberts puts it, as a result of Italian elections, Italy polled the highest against the European Union. On the moderate left, the Five Starr Movement gathered 30% of the vote. On the right the Northern League came in second. Twenty eight percent of Italians didn’t bother to vote which for Italy is pretty high. No party got enough votes to govern alone. What capitalists fear most is a coalition between the Five Star Movement and the Northern League. Roberts adds the economic statistics which show why Italy is a mess.
