Florida Prisoners Say No More Slave Labor – Their Strike Begins Today

Prison labor is the dirty secret corporations don’t want you to know about. In Florida prisoner labor is unpaid and in other states the wage is virtually nothing. Many of the prisoners who fought the recent deadly fires in California were paid $1 an hour while risking their lives. Capitalist benefit from this slave labor and will not be pleased when the Florida prisoners go on strike to protest these conditions. How can we claim to live in a democracy when this type of exploitation is institutionalized?
