Disaster Capitalism Doesn’t Work: The Irrationalities Multiply

According to economist Richard Wolff, the cost of the coronavirus to US capitalism is already far more than the cost would have been of treating the virus in a systemic, structural way. We have unemployed workers, but there appears to be no thought of using the workers to make masks or ventilators. We have a Fed which prints money for bankers and big capitalists, but printing money for a  universal basic income is nowhere to be found. Are we really coming to the end of capitalism? Rick Wolff compares the situation we are in today to the Black Death in the Middle Ages which ended feudalism.
