Are there levels of collective perception? This article argues there are. Mass media controls what we pay attention to and what we don’t. On the one hand, there was surface perception – evil Russians, Trump. Brexit, but at a deeper level there was the coronavirus, which we paid little attention to. Now the coronavirus is surface perception, but below that there is a new depth perception that we are not paying attention to. This article describes what that is.
