The Chinese New Silk Road has been a shining example of what Marx advocated that capitalist societies do at their best: develop the productive forces. But now with the fallout of the coronavirus, trade and shipping are in decline. The countries that signed up for the Belt and Road Initiative are in even worse sharp in terms of making debt payments. What can be done?
