Brazilian Economic Crisis Mounts as Military Deployed Against Protests

Brazil is the largest economy in South America and, according to this article, is undergoing its worst economic crisis in a century. There are the usual protests against President Temer’s restoration of neoliberal privatization – specifically the projected selling of the state-owned water company. But there is also fighting among the elites. Temer is attempting to suppress the two newspapers that initially brought him to power.
