Workers’ Self-Management Cross-Culturally: Place and Misplace of the State

The movement for worker cooperatives must understand itself in relationship to more radical forms of workplace democracy, which is called worker self-management. We must also come to terms with the role of the state and the market as a builder or destroyer of workplace democracy. Case studies include Yugoslavia, Britain, Argentina and Venezuela, This is a long article but well worth it.
