Wildcat Strike Waves by Bangladesh Garment Workers

What’s interesting and encouraging in Bangladesh is that the new wave of strikes, as in China, are wildcat strikes held in the absence of any strong unions. This has the advantage of being unpredictable but the liability of lack of long-term planning. The working conditions described in this article in the garment industry in Bangladesh resemble British factories in the first half of the 19th century.
