In Kim Stanley Robinson’s newest science fiction work: New York 2140, an economic revolution takes place after the latest environmental disaster leaves thousands homeless and forced to live in Central Park. This is the “Strike Debt” movement as it should be.

“You know the Householders’ Union that I was telling you about? I think it’s time for everyone to join that union, and for that union to go on strike. An everybody strike. I think there should be an everybody strike. Now. Today.”

“Strategic defaulting…refusing consumer consumption beyond the necessities…withdrawing deposits…withholding scheduled payments…fiscal noncompliance.”
