By most Marxist standards, capitalism is in its worst shape in history. In the past 40 years the United States has become the nation-state with the highest social inequality in the world. The standard of living for the average American is well below the standard of living 50 years ago. Most jobs today are temporary, part time and with no benefits. In the past year, more than half of people under thirty have said they prefer socialism to capitalism, So where is the movement of the left towards socialism? This article is a revealing perspective of an Iraqi witnessing what is going on in the United States from his home in Russia.
