Orwell At Work: “Human Rights” In the Service of Death

“Freedom is slavery, war is peace” are some of the slogans that were part of the political organization of language in Orwell’s great book 1984. This is nothing new for Yankees who have been justifying imperialism for well over 100 years. This article is full of examples where the U.S. uses “human rights” as a justification for death and destruction – in Iraq, Libya and Syria.
