For the past 10 years the number of work stoppages in the US was at an all-time low, since at least 1947. But this year there have been 10 work stoppages, 3 more than during all of last year. This doesn’t account for the current teachers strike in Colorado and the strikes planned in North and South Carolina. In all these work stoppages, unions have acted as a conservative force and the Democratic party has ignored them. All workers badly need their own party.
