Capitalist Schizophrenia: 2016 World Economy in Review

Capitalism functions with neither rhyme nor reason according to mainstream news overviews of 2016. One source of schizophrenia is that the trends named in local economies, such as youth unemployment in France and Italy, are not connected to capitalist global policies. We are told that the price of oil has doubled in the last year while the Chinese economy has “slowed”. What is the relationship? It’s all a mystery. The trends are important, but it is up to Marxists to create an analysis of them.
